Most corporate teams decide on a video podcast before they have looked at what it costs, and then the first quote feels arbitrary. The number is not random: it is built from the crew, the cameras, the location and how much editing the episode needs. Here is what actually moves the price when you book production in Delhi NCR.
1. Studio recording or on-location shoot
A studio session is cheaper per episode because the set is already lit and the audio is tuned for the room. An on-location shoot adds crew travel, setup time and gear movement, so the same episode costs more. For a team recording several episodes, the studio usually wins; for a leadership team that cannot travel, on-location still makes sense.
2. Number of cameras
A single camera is the cheapest and also the least forgiving: any filler word or pause shows up as dead air. Two or three cameras let the editor cut between angles and keep the episode moving. This is the upgrade that most improves how professional the final video looks.
3. Audio is not optional
Viewers forgive soft lighting; they do not forgive bad sound. Broadcast-quality microphones, a proper interface and a monitored recording are part of the base cost, not an add-on. Fixing bad audio in post is expensive and never sounds the same.
4. How deep the edit goes
A clean cut with titles, colour and audio cleanup is the standard deliverable, and the master file plus an audio-only version costs the least. Adding short vertical clips, thumbnails, subtitles and YouTube titles increases the work but also extends how long the episode keeps bringing attention. Most brands choose the package with clips because it does more work per episode.
5. How many episodes per session
The set-up cost is paid once per session, not once per episode. Booking two or three episodes back to back spreads the crew and travel cost across them, which is the single easiest way to reduce the average cost per episode.
What to ask before you compare quotes
- Does the quote include the crew, or is it studio rental only?
- How many cameras, and is the edit cut between angles?
- Is the audio-only episode included?
- Are vertical clips and thumbnails included, or billed separately?
- Is the raw footage handed over?
